With our organization’s mission always in mind, we strive to find new strategies to provide a framework of compassionate care. These special projects help us meet this challenge. 

(Summer) Supplement Bags  
In summer, our clients with school-aged kids need more food than they do during the school year. So, in addition to our regular distribution amounts, Helping Hands supplies weekly supplement bags to these families to help meet this need. Periodically throughout the year supplement bags are also distributed.

School Supply Drive  
With community partners, we gather and distribute school supplies to our clients with students in DSISD every August.  Pre-registration is encouraged to help our team prepare for the necessary school supplies.

Project Elf

Our annual community Christmas gift program for the children of clients of the Food Pantry. Together we work to create a little more magic in the lives of our youngest neighbors.
